Re: Catholic Healthcare International September 12, 2010
Dear Spiritual Children and Friends of Padre Pio,

The Lord give you His peace!

The Stigmata of Saint Francis of Assisi and St. Pio of Pietrelcina remind us of the woundedness of all human beings, particularly those afflicted with infirmities that challenge the spirit as well as the body and mind. Padre Pio’s compassion and foresight were concretized in the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza (Home for the Relief of Suffering). This Work of Padre Pio speaks to the world of the good that can be accomplished when we open our hearts to the Suffering Servant in our sisters and brothers.

In a previous letter I informed all the Prayer Groups of a collaborative effort we have become a part of with the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza and Catholic Healthcare International. The ‘Casa’ is our Headquarters as well as the first external expression and reminder of the operative love the Spiritual Children of Padre Pio are called to concretize in their lives.

Progress continues towards the realization of extending the spirit and ministry of the ‘Casa’ in the USA. Dr. Sanguinetti, close collaborator of Padre Pio in the establishment of the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza, spoke of the future of the ‘Casa’ in words that have become, in light of what is taking place, prophetic: The Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza should therefore be the first link in a great chain. It should be the model for many other innumerable Casas with the same name, and above all the same spirit, which must bring love to all of humanity. A program which would make us tremble with awe, if it was not inspired by God who is above all Love!

Dr. Mel Abordo and Mark Palazzolo are developing a rural health clinic model through Marian Medical Services which will have a very positive application in providing care to the needy in under-served areas and contributing funds in ongoing support of CHI (Catholic Healthcare International). Documents are being drafted to assure that everything is faithful to the vision of Padre Pio and the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church on all matters of faith and morals, and that the affairs of this enterprise be conducted in a manner consistent with such teachings and with due regard for the instruction of the local Bishop in each diocese in which the spirit and ministry of the ‘Casa’ are present and operative. All involved in this wonderful endeavor are committed to cooperate in a manner that gives glory to God under the patronage of Mary, Mirror of Justice, and St. Pio of Pietrelcina.

Continue to keep this ministry in your prayers. Padre Pio is spreading his spirit of love and concern for the sick and infirm through us. In our prayers, let us keep this added intention that the Most Blessed Trinity may bless the efforts of His children, and our Heavenly Mother and Padre Pio encourage and assist with their powerful intercession before God this wonderful initiative. What God has begun in the hearts of those open to listen to Him, may He bring to successful completion according to His Divine Will.

May God bless you; my Our Lady guide, guard, and protect you; and may Padre Pio look upon each one of you, his Spiritual Children, with loving care.

Peace and Blessings
