|1 Do not slow down or become lukewarm in that fervor which the Lord allows you to feel.||2 Do not suffocate the good inspirations that God sends you.||3 Be a true apostle of good.||4 Do not abstain from doing good due to silly and useless apprehension.||5 The Divine Master has promised a reward not to those who begin well, but to those who persevere to the end.|
|6 I raise my hand many times in the silence of the night…blessing and presenting you all to Jesus||7 Always be faithful to God in observing the promises you made to him…||8 Pay no attention to the mocking of the foolish (who laugh at the good works you seek to do in the name of God).||9 Know that the saints were always mocked by the world and the worldly…they placed the world and its maxims under their feet.||10 Always remember the reason why the Son of God came to earth; it was in order to save (everyone).||11 Understand the great and noble goal, which is the sanctification of ones own soul.||12 Be faithful … frequenting the sacraments.|
|13 In the most holy sacrament of the Eucharist, in this sacrament of love, we have true life, a blessed life, and true happiness.||14 (In the Eucharist) we receive not only the graces that perfect us, but the very author of these graces.||15 How great and how sweet is the divine dogma of the Communion of Saints in the Church of Jesus!||16 Let us also ask our good Jesus for humility, trust and faith.||17 Let us pray fervently to Jesus.||18 Let us abandon ourselves to (Jesus), detaching ourselves from this lying world where everything is folly and vanity.||19 Everything passes, only God remains to the soul, if it knows how to love Him well.|
|20 Those souls who throw themselves into the whirlpool of worldly preoccupations are poor and unfortunate.||21 Continue to increase always in the life of virtue.||22 Let us pray for … poor and unfortunate souls that Jesus may forgive them and draw them to himself in his infinite mercy.||23 Jesus tells us that there is more festivity in heaven for the sinner who repents than for the perseverance of 99 just people.||24 If you succeed in overcoming temptation, it will have the same effect that washing has on soiled linen.||25 As long as there remains a drop of blood in our body, there will be a struggle between right and wrong.||26 May Mary convert all the troubles of your life to joy|
|27 When passing before an image of the Madonna one should say: I greet you, oh Mary. Greet Jesus for me.||28 Let us be very grateful to the Madonna because it was She who gave us Christ!||29 The Heart of our Divine Master has no law more pleasing than that of gentleness, humility and charity.||30 If we do good while we still have the gift of Time, we will be glorifying our Heavenly Father, sanctifying ourselves, and giving a good example to others.||
The words of Padre Pio for this month are taken from varied sayings (August 24th to 31st),|
and from the letters to his spiritual daughters:
Violante Masone: 1921 May 19; December 31; 1922: January 18
Graziella Pannullo: 1921: December 30; 1922: November 27
Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, prudent father, you loved the Souls in Purgatory so much and taught us to love them as well. You offered yourself as a victim to expiate their sufferings in Purgatory. Intercede for us with Our Lord and God Jesus Christ that our hearts may be filled with compassion and love for the Holy Souls. Following your example, we too desire to assist the Holy Souls and reduce their time of affliction in Purgatory. We ask that our prayers and sacrifices may grant them relief in their sufferings, the holy indulgences necessary to liberate them from their place of torment and a speedy entrance into the eternal joys of heaven.
Closing Prayer (everyday):
Through your fatherly protection, saintly guidance and the spiritual strength you gain for us from God, at the moment of our death may we encounter you waiting for us at the Gates of Paradise.
Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, humble father, you truly loved our Holy Mother the Church. Ask God, the Lord of the Harvest, to send laborers into His vineyard. May He fill the world with many and holy priests who are filled with the strength and inspiration that comes only from God. Intercede for us with the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother, that she may lead to unity all our brothers and sisters who call upon Jesus, as Lord and Savior. May they find their unity in the one great family of God in Christ on earth, so that the Church may be a beacon of light and sure hope of salvation in the storm-tossed sea of life.
Through the concern and commitment with which you attached yourself spiritually to all those who sought you as spiritual guide, accompany us at every moment on our earthly pilgrimage towards heaven.
There we hope one day to contemplate the glory of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, our God Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
V - May I never boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
V - You bore the wounds of Christ on your body.
V - Pray for us St. Pio of Pietrelcina
